Backup Your WhatsApp Account

If you've made the choice to leave WhatsApp, either as a result of limited storage space, you can delete your account permanently.

Before proceeding make note that deleting your whatsapp web account is a one-way street. Once you delete it, every single message will be unrecoverable, including multimedia files. It's crucial to save photos before taking this step.

To delete your WhatsApp account, follow these steps:

1 Start by opening WhatsApp on your phone or accessing the WhatsApp website using a desktop browser.

2 Tap on the settings icon on your phone, located in the top-right corner of the browser window.

3 Tap on 'Settings', to open the settings panel.

4 In the settings panel, scroll down, and look for the 'Account' section.

5 You'll find an option that says 'Delete my account.'

6 You'll be asked to enter your phone number to confirm the deletion of your account. Type in your phone number and click on 'Delete my account.'

7 WhatsApp will then prompt you to confirm that you want to delete your account. This is a permanent action, and you won't be able to log in again using the same phone number after erasure.

After following these steps, your WhatsApp account will be deleted completely, and you won't be able to log in again using the same phone number.

Note that if you've used WhatsApp Business or WhatsApp with multiple numbers, deleting one account won't delete all of them. In this case, you'll need to delete each account individually.

The simple act of deleting the app doesn't delete your account, so you can still delete your account even if you've removed the app from your phone.
